The house

The Casa del Vino de Tenerife is a worthy representative of the rustic historic haciendas that, located in the Midlands of the North of Tenerife, have been preserved over time, and that approximately every two km., Were built by their owners as the first or Second summer residence, in order to centralize the agrarian activity that encompassed its territory from sea to summit, with all kinds of representative products of each area – coast, middle and high area -, so we know the house of San José, in the border of the municipality of La Matanza, and that of San Diego in that municipality.

The style of the House responds to the characteristics of the Canarian building of the time; Therefore, it includes constructive and detailed aspects of master craftsmen of Portuguese, Spanish and Extremaduran origin. Highlights the roof of the Hermitage for its beauty and color and remains unrestored.

The La Baranda estate, including the large house, was acquired by the City Council of El Sauzal in 1989 and transferred free of charge to the Island Council of Tenerife in 1992, in order to install the Casa del Vino de Tenerife.
